"Mostovyi Volodymyr Pavlovych departed this life today. The creator of "Dzerkalo Tyzhnia" ("The Weekly Mirror")departed this life at the age of 77. A person who was at the helm of our publication for 17 years - from 1994 to 2011. One that created the team. She laid down the moral code of "Mirror" and ensured climate control in our professional family for all 29 years.
We lost a person who had an encyclopedic knowledge, a unique sense of humor and tact, optimism and tremendous faith in Ukraine. Today, many people have lost not only a Teacher but also a relative and close person.
There will be no pillows with orders. As a journalist, Volodymyr Pavlovich did not consider it possible for himself to accept favors from any government. The man who created the first analytical and investigative publication in Independent Ukraine will not have a place on the central alley of the Baikove cemetery - he will remain with his family, from which he always drew strength and pleaded to the Cause, friends, and colleagues", - writes in "Dzerkalo Tyzhnia" ("The Weekly Mirror").
Farewell will be held on Saturday at 12:00 in the Great Hall of the Kyiv Crematorium at 16 Baikova Street.
"One of the founders of Ukrainian journalism, Volodymyr Mostovyi... He will remain in the lives of those whom he influenced and to whom he gave a way and a worldview. His words and evaluations will remain nearby, as well as the history of "Dzerkalo Tyzhnia" ("The Weekly Mirror"), a publication that set the standards of political journalism and was its core from the very beginning, which is very important for Ukraine. Blessed memory," wrote Censor.NET Editor-in-Chief Yurii Butusov.
