During November 21, Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian assaults in Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka, Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, - General Staff
The General Staff of the Armed Forces released operational information on the Russian invasion as of 18.00 on November 21, 2023.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported on the official Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The message reads: "The six hundred and thirty-sixth day of large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our state continues.
The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, and fires at both military and civilian targets.
There were 33 clashes during the day. The enemy launched 4 missile and 37 air strikes, carried out 19 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Also, on the night of November 21, the occupiers launched another attack on Ukraine, using 4 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, an Iskander-K cruise missile and 10 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Air defense forces destroyed an Iskander-K cruise missile and 9 attack UAVs. In addition, the enemy attacked the port infrastructure of the city of Odesa and the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of the Odesa region with Kh-31P missiles. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings, the buildings of the Central City Hospital in Selydove of the Donetsk region, and the Kotliarevska mine, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were destroyed and damaged.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched an airstrike in the areas of the settlements of Leonivka and Popivka of the Chernihiv region. About 30 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar shelling, including Kliusy, Bleshnia, Leonivka, Buchky, Hremiach of the Chernihiv region; Volfyne, Bilovody, Basivka, Mohrytsia of the Sumy region; Veterynarne, Budarky of the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted offensive actions in the areas of Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka of the Kharkiv region, where the Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the occupiers carried out assault operations near Siversk of the Donetsk region, without success. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of the Serebryanskyi forestry of the Luhansk region. About 15 settlements were damaged by artillery and mortar shelling, among them Makiivka, Nevske in the Luhansk region and Yampolivka, Torske, Dibrova, Spirne of the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks near Klishchiivka and east of the Pivdennyi of the Donetsk region. More than 20 settlements were under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchivka, Andriivka, Druzhba, Pivdenne of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Sieverne and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 8 attacks. They fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Keramik, Berdychi, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region.
In the Marinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled more than 15 enemy attacks. Such settlements of Donetsk region as Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, and Yelyzavetivka came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults west of Staromayorske of the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, in particular, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy carried out assault operations in the areas of Robotyne and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, without success. Conducted an air strike in the area of Urozhaine of the Zaporizhzhya region. More than 25 settlements, including Luhivske, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Kamianske, and Prymorske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes near Zmiivka, Novoberyslav, Kozatske. Kherson, Beryslav, Ivanivka, Poniativka, Antonivka of the Kherson region and Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region were hit by artillery fire.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line. The defense forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. They continue to inflict fire damage on the enemy.
The Russian occupiers continue to forcibly issue passports to the population of the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk region. Thus, in order to increase moral pressure on Ukrainian residents of the Luhansk region and force them to obtain Russian citizenship, the so-called Russian occupation government decided that only those citizens of Ukraine who agreed to obtain a Russian passport will be able to receive compensation for the purchase of coal and firewood for the heating season.
During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces struck the control post, 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and 2 strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems. Units of the Missile Forces hit 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as the enemy's ammunition depot."
