After the NATO Summit in Vilnius, Ukraine saw positive developments in its accession to the Alliance.

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna said this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, Censor.NET reports.

"Ukraine's accession to NATO is not yet a reality. I can't say when that will happen.

But I feel much calmer now than I did before the Vilnius Summit. Because after Vilnius, a lot has changed. In fact, we are now at the level of Sweden and Finland in terms of interaction with the Alliance.

Today, NATO is already thinking about the contribution of the Ukrainian security sector to collective security. The path to this was years. This is a very big change," she said.

At the same time, according to Stefanishina, a number of Alliance leaders are "still not ready to take personal historical responsibility".

It will be recalled that the NATO summit in Vilnius agreed to withdraw the requirement for an Action Plan for membership on Ukraine's path to the Alliance. At the same time, the allies have formulated the possibility of inviting Ukraine to join NATO rather bluntly, namely, "when the conditions are met". However, the summit decision does not contain a list of conditions that Ukraine must fulfill.
