European Commission disagrees with Orban that proposal to start accession talks with Ukraine is unreasonable

According to the European Commission, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is wrong when he says that the proposal to start negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU is "unfounded and poorly prepared".

This was stated at a briefing by the European Commission representative Ana Pisonero, Censor.NET reports citing European Pravda.

According to her, the European Commission disagrees with Orban's claims that the EC's position on Ukraine is "unfounded and poorly prepared".

"We do not believe that our proposal is unreasonable. On the contrary, we believe that Ukraine has done an amazing job. For our part, we have made recommendations for the start of negotiations, and now it is up to the member states to decide on our proposals," she said.

As a reminder, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban insists that the EU summit in mid-December should not consider the issue of starting negotiations with Ukraine on joining the European Union, as the European Commission's conclusion is "unfounded and poorly prepared".
