Today, December 5, Ukraine and the world celebrate the International Volunteer Day.

Note that the International Day of Volunteers in the name of economic and social development (this is the full name of the Day of Volunteers), was proclaimed by the decision of the 40th session of the UN General Assembly on December 17, 1985.
Volunteer - translated from English means voluntary assistant. Volunteers work completely free of charge anywhere where their help is needed: in orphanages, shelters, boarding schools and nursing homes. They take care of the sick and help older people to do housework.
The first volunteer project was carried out after the First World War, in 1920, in France, near Strasbourg, with the participation of German and French youth, in which volunteers restored farms destroyed by the war in the area of the most fierce battles between German and French troops. Then India picked up the baton and the volunteer movement spread around the world.
Today, Ukrainian volunteers are an important part of our people, which brings our common victory closer. The role of volunteers in Ukraine during the war cannot be overestimated. They always stand behind the military and help them, often risking their own lives. Today, volunteers are the most powerful part of civil society in Ukraine, and the volunteer movement unites all cities and communities of the state and all social groups.
