Zelenskyy: We need to think about multiple citizenship, it’s normal
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that there are "subtle aspects" to multiple citizenship. But he sees nothing wrong with such proposals.
He said this during a press conference, Censor.NET reports.
"Probably, we need to think, I don't know if it's time to think about multiple citizenship. There is a relevant law. And the EU countries - and historically we will be there in the near future - so I see nothing wrong with such proposals," he explained.
The Head of State noted that he had raised this issue before the full-scale invasion of Russia.
"It was in our program. I really think it's normal. And I believe that there are really 60 million Ukrainians in the world. And not everyone has to live in Ukraine, they have a history, their families, some were born in Canada, in the United States, but to allow them to support Ukraine, to feel that they are Ukrainians, to help, to open a business here, to pay taxes," the president said.
He added that there are "subtle aspects of multiple citizenship."
