The issue of dual citizenship in Ukraine is increasingly gaining attention. Recent legal initiatives, such as the draft law on multiple citizenship submitted by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Verkhovna Rada, aim to enable Ukrainians living abroad to hold dual nationality. While this opens the door to greater global integration, controversies also abound. Several judges, including Arina Litvinova and Liudmyla Arestova, have faced scrutiny for allegedly holding Russian citizenship, raising questions about loyalty and judicial integrity. Additionally, societal concerns remain, particularly regarding military service exemptions under martial law. Despite challenges, the discourse around dual or multiple citizenship continues to prompt discussions about national identity and global citizenship.
