Switzerland joins 12th package of EU sanctions against Russia

The Switzerland government supported the 12th package of EU sanctions against Russia, adopted on December 18. The country imposed restrictions on 61 more individuals and 86 legal entities.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported on the website of Switzerland's Federal Council.

It is noted that the Swiss Federal Department of Economics Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) on Thursday imposed sanctions on another 61 individuals and 86 legal entities within its jurisdiction.

The individuals on the sanctions list include members of the Belarusian Armed Forces, heads of companies that support Russia's military and industrial potential, and members of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.

The new Swiss sanctions were imposed mainly on Russian companies operating in the defense sector.

At the same time, the Federal Council noted that there are currently no direct imports of natural or synthetic diamonds from Russia to Switzerland.
