North Korea has said that Russia is not using North Korean missiles to attack Ukraine.

As reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform, this is stated in the statement of North Korea's ambassador to the UN, Kim Son.

The representative of Pyongyang, in response to the world's condemnation of the illegal military cooperation between the DPRK and the Russian Federation, traditionally criticized the United States, praised Russia, and justified his country's relations with Moscow.

Son called the United States-initiated January 10 meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the supply of missiles to Russia from the DPRK as evidence of the United States' attempts to undermine the foundations of international peace and security, contrary to the principles of the UN Charter.

The diplomat repeated the thesis of Russian propaganda that the "Ukrainian crisis" was created by the US's confrontational policy and "encroachment on the reasonable and just security interests of Russia", therefore, in his opinion, "Washington will never avoid its responsibility" for this war.

The ambassador also stated that the DPRK had nothing to do with the topic of the UN Security Council meeting on January 10, noting that its convening by the United States "is a vivid reflection of their plight" and evidence of "the lack of forces and means in the strategic confrontation with Russia."

The diplomat noted that North Korea's relations with the Russian Federation "are legitimate relations between independent sovereign states... based on respect for the principle of equality and the right to self-determination."

Also remind, the representative of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, reported three times about the shelling of Ukraine by North Korean missiles. According to him, on December 30, Russian forces launched at least one such missile over Ukraine, and then on January 2, Russia also launched several North Korean ballistic missiles as part of a night air attack.

However, at that time, the Air Force did not confirm the information about the use by the Russian army of ballistic missiles, which were transferred by North Korea.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, after examining the fragments of rockets with which the Russian Federation fired at Kharkiv on December 29 - January 2, and which could be of North Korean origin, announced technical differences with those rockets used by the Russians before that. The prosecutor's office assumed: either the Russian Federation switched to more negligent production of missiles, or it could be a missile manufactured by another country. However, experts could not say for sure that this is a Korean-made missile.

On January 9, Kirby stated at a briefing that on January 6, Russia again launched several missiles at Ukraine, which it received from North Korea.

On January 11, 2024, Prosecutor General Kostin confirmed Russia's use of North Korean missiles to attack Ukraine
