Zavoloka, fitness instructor from Poltava who humiliated military, extends detention until March 10, 2024

Oktiabrskyi court of Poltava extended the measure of restraint in the form of detention for Roman Zavoloka, who humiliated the military.

According to Censor.NET, with reference to Suspilne, this became known from a ruling published on January 15 on the website of the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

Roman Zavoloka's detention was extended until March 10, 2024. This was requested by the prosecution. The suspect's defense lawyer asked to change the measure of restraint from custody to house arrest, and also asked to set bail as an alternative measure of restraint. The court denied this request.

Roman Zavoloka is suspected under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

- part one of Article 114-1 "Obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations";

- part two of Article 435-1 "Insulting the honor and dignity of a serviceman, threatening a serviceman";

- part two of Article 345 "Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer";

- parts two and three of Article 436-2 "Justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants".

On August 29, the police opened a criminal investigation against fitness trainer and blogger Roman Zavoloka, who systematically humiliated employees of the TCR and SS (Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support) in Poltava.  The man found military enlistment officers on the street who were handing out calls, humiliated them and filmed the conversation. In particular, he spat on and called war veteran Oleksandr Matsko, who wanted to hand him a draft notice, a "jerk."
