USA will not withdraw from NATO despite Trump’s position - Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the United States of America will not leave the Alliance regardless of the results of this year’s elections in the USA.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the EP.
"The United States will remain a loyal and important ally because it is in the security interests of the United States to have more than 30 friends and allies," he said.
According to Stoltenberg, this is what China and Russia do not have and what makes the United States safer and stronger.
The NATO Secretary General added that in past meetings, Trump never told him that the US would never help Europe if it was attacked.
Stoltenberg noted that the main claim of the ex-president of the United States to him was that the European allies do not spend enough money on defense.
The Secretary-General pointed out that now the European allies are increasing these expenses, "so we have something to say about the distribution of the (financial) burden," he concluded.
