Ukraine has opportunity to prepare 500 thousand mobilized, - General Nikoliuk

Ukraine has the opportunity to train 500,000, 100,000 or 200,000 people liable for military service, as determined by the new draft law on mobilisation currently being worked on by the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to Censor.NET, this was stated by Major General Viktor Nikoliuk, Commander of the Training Command of the Land Forces of the AFU, in an interview with the Radio Liberty project "Donbas Realities".
"Today, for example, we are constantly holding relevant events, holding meetings to clarify the actual capabilities of all training centres and the real state of the instructor staff, as a significant number of them are involved in combat missions. But as of today, we are able to train any number of personnel," he says.
Nikoliuk clarified that as of today, 20% of the military personnel have been trained abroad, while the rest, 80%, have been trained in Ukraine.
The major general said that Ukraine is "several years ahead of those who teach it" in terms of combat experience.
"Of course, we are sharing this experience, but we need to keep in mind that it does not stand still. Any war changes, and these subtleties must be taken into account," says Nikoliuk.
Answering the question of which specialists are most in demand in the army now, the Major General said that it is the infantry.
"This is the infantry that goes forward, that storms, that entrenches itself in a trench, that holds positions, that infantry that enters enemy positions, that repels the enemy. The most massive training in the ground forces is that of an infantryman. Without belittling their role, drones, tankers, artillerymen, mortar men, anyone are very important. But today it is the infantry," he said.
