EU extends economic sanctions against Russia for another 6 months
The EU Council extended economic sanctions against Russia for six months for its armed aggression against Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing EP, this is stated in the EU Council communiqué.
The sanctions were extended for the next six months - until 31 July 2024.
This refers to all economic sanctions imposed by the EU against Russia since the first restrictions in July 2014.
The communiqué notes that the EU considers it necessary to maintain all sanctions as long as Russia continues to use force and violate international law.
