Ukraine creates information system on prisoners of war

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a Resolution approving the Regulation on the Information System for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. It is about the defenders of Ukraine who are in captivity of the aggressor state, civilian prisoners and missing persons.
According to Censor.NET, this is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
It is noted that the document regulates the functioning of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and electronic interaction between interested state authorities.
The database of the information system will include information on:
- Defenders of Ukraine held in captivity by the aggressor state
- Civilians deprived of their personal liberty as a result of armed aggression
- Persons missing in connection with the armed conflict, hostilities, temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine
The resolution regulates the activities of public reception centres of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and grants rights to the relevant regional centres.
The Coordination Headquarters is also empowered to repatriate the bodies (remains) of defenders and expands the possibilities for the return from captivity of civilians deprived of their personal liberty as a result of armed aggression.
"We remember every person who is in captivity and do everything we can to bring them home. I am very grateful to the Government for adopting this decision - it will help us to act more systematically and promptly make decisions on the speedy return of Ukraine's defenders from captivity," said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova.
