Baltic states called on NATO to provide clear path to Ukraine’s membership: Significant contribution to Alliance’s security has been made

The Baltic ambassadors to the UK said that a clear path to Ukraine’s membership in NATO should be a priority for the 75th anniversary of the Alliance’s summit.
According to Censor.NET, The Telegraph reports.
"At the Vilnius Summit last year, Allied leaders made it clear that Ukraine's future lies in NATO. We want this to happen as soon as possible, not only to protect our friends from Russian aggression, but also for the sake of all countries in the Euro-Atlantic area. As a battle-hardened ally, Ukraine will make a significant contribution to our security. A clear path to Ukraine's membership should be a priority for the 75th anniversary of the NATO Summit in Washington this summer," the statement said.
In a joint article, Estonian Ambassador Viljar Lubi, Latvian Ambassador Evita Burmistre and Lithuanian Charge d'Affaires in the UK Lina Zigmantaitė called on NATO to show more resolve in dealing with the "challenges" posed by Russia to the world.
"The policy of containing Russia is not an option - it is a necessity. The time has come for the Alliance to be proactive in creating strategic dilemmas for Russia," the statement added.
