Process of Ukraine’s accession to NATO can only move forward after war - State Department

Ukraine will be able to join the North Atlantic Alliance when the war is over.

This was stated by the US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"Ultimately, this is a process that will move forward after the end of this conflict," he said.

The spokesman stressed that the United States' position on this issue has remained unchanged for some time.

Miller also added that the issue of Ukraine was discussed during the last NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels last week, as well as at a meeting between US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
