Evidence has been collected against five more traitors who fought against the Defense Forces on the eastern front.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

As noted, in June 2024, the occupiers, together with their henchmen, tried to break through to Siversk and Toretsk in the Donetsk region. At that time, Ukrainian defenders killed almost all the personnel of the aggressor's assault groups, and took the rest prisoner. Among the prisoners are four residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In February and March 2022, they joined the occupation groups of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.

One of them is reportedly a sniper from the 85th separate motorized rifle brigade of the aggressor country. He participated in the capture of Popasna in the Luhansk region as part of the enemy forces and was later redeployed to the Siversk direction. Two more - a squad leader and a driver from the 4th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Federation troops, who participated in the capture of Sievierodonetsk. After that, they assaulted the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Bilohorivka and Zolotarivka in order to break through to Siversk. The fourth traitor was a member of the 132nd separate motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Armed Forces. As a machine gunner, he carried out precision fire on Ukrainian defenders near Toretsk.

Another captive is a resident of the temporarily occupied part of the Kharkiv region. In June 2024, he went to Moscow, where he signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. Then he was assigned to the 59th assault platoon of the 2nd tank regiment of the aggressor country. After a short training at the training grounds, the traitor was sent as part of an assault group to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the village of Terny in Donetsk region. He was taken prisoner there.

SBU investigators served the suspects suspicion notices (in accordance with the crimes committed) under Art. 1, 2 of Art. 111 (high treason) and Part 7 of Art. 111-1 (voluntary participation of a citizen of Ukraine in illegal armed or paramilitary groups created in the temporarily occupied territory and/or in the armed formations of the aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The SSU added that the offenders face life imprisonment.
