Blinken discusses realisation of just peace for Ukraine with Indian Foreign Minister

The day before, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Tokyo.

This was reported by the US Department of State, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Secretary Blinken and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar reaffirmed the United States' and India's commitment to promoting a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. The Secretary and the External Affairs Minister discussed future opportunities to deepen U.S.-India cooperation on shared priorities. Secretary Blinken stressed the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter," the statement said.

According to the Voice of America, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Ukraine in August. If the information about the visit is confirmed, it will be his first visit to Ukraine since Russia's invasion in February 2022.
