NABU starts checking "servant" Zhupanin, who was vacationing in London
The NABU is checking media reports about the travels and vacations of People's Deputy of the Servant of the People Andrii Zhupanin in London.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported to Kommersant Ukrainian by the NABU in response to an information request.
"NABU detectives are conducting analytical work to verify the information contained in the journalistic investigation (the Bihus.Info investigation: " The wife of People's Deputy Zhupanin ‘burned’ him up on vacation in London". - Ed.)," the response reads.
The Bureau clarified that detectives are not currently conducting a pre-trial investigation into Zhupanin's possible illicit enrichment. They explained that the right to register such proceedings, according to the requirements of the CPC, belongs to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption launched a full audit of the 2023 declaration of Andrii Zhupanin, Member of Parliament of Ukraine.
People's deputy from the Servant of the People party Andrii Zhupanin is at the center of a scandal over his regular trips to London during the full-scale war in Ukraine. A journalistic investigation by Bihus.Info found that the deputy frequently visits the British capital, where he often spends time with his wife and lives in an elite apartment with an estimated cost of more than 5,000 pounds per month.
It was emphasized that Zhupanin regularly visits London despite the ban on deputies leaving the country on non-governmental matters imposed by the National Security and Defense Council in January 2023.
Andriy Zhupanin, according to his income declaration, rents an apartment in Kyiv for 240 thousand UAH per year. The state compensates him for this.
At the same time, Zhupanin's wife has had her own apartment in Kyiv since 2018, which the politician also indicated in his declaration.
