Most countries want Russia’s participation in second peace summit, so we can’t be against it - Zelenskyy
Most countries in the world want Russia to take part in the second peace summit. Therefore, Ukraine cannot be against this initiative.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with French media, Censor.NET reports.
"Most of the world is now saying that Russia should be represented at the second summit, otherwise we will not achieve any significant results... Since the whole world wants them to be at the negotiating table, we cannot be against it, because it is important for us to stop them (Russians - ed.)," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine intends to prepare a plan by November that will be based on the peace formula.
"I said that I set such dates for our diplomats before the second summit, and I asked our international partners to do the same, so that we could finish this document by November. And it will contain everything. It will include territorial integrity, sovereignty, and so on. And this plan will be prepared for the second summit," the Ukrainian leader said.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian representatives should attend the second Peace Summit.
Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the next peace summit should be held with the participation of the Russian side, but not on the terms of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The first Global Peace Summit was held on June 15-16 in Switzerland.
