48-year-old man sets off grenade in Kherson: one person is killed, five injured
On July 31, in Kherson, a 48-year-old man threw a grenade at a playground near a store where people were resting.
This was reported by the National Police, Censor.NET reports.
The incident took place in the central district of the city, around 7:00 pm.
The police found out that an unknown man had entered the area where the five citizens were vacationing. While the resting people were talking to the stranger, a misunderstanding arose between them.
Subsequently, the latter left and returned a few minutes later and threw a grenade. The explosion killed a 69-year-old pensioner.
In addition, five men aged 32 to 41 years received injuries of varying severity. The offender fled the scene in an unknown direction.
"In the course of priority investigative and search measures, the Criminal Investigation operatives identified the offender within a few minutes. He was detained at his place of residence. It was a 48-year-old local resident. The necessary investigative actions are under way. The preliminary classification of the crime is Part 3 of Article 15, paragraphs 1, 5 of Part 2 of Article 115 "Premeditated murder", Part 1 of Article 263 "Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the statement said.
