Russians claim attack on Kursk region, powerful explosions were heard. VIDEO&PHOTOS
On the night of 6 August, powerful explosions were heard in several cities in the Kursk region, and air defence forces and equipment were deployed in the region due to a drone attack.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Russian media.
According to the acting governor of the Kursk region, Aleksey Smirnov, air defence forces shot down 14 allegedly Ukrainian UAVs. The explosions were heard in Sudzha, Korenovo, Lgovsky, Belovsky, Kurchatovsky and Oktiabrsky districts of the region.
Initially, local authorities claimed a missile threat, twice that night, and then a drone attack.
Meanwhile, Kursk social media posted footage of explosions in some towns in different districts, saying that "today is a tough day in Sudzha".
Later, Russian media reported that 5 people were injured as a result of the shelling of the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region. Among the injured are three children. They were taken to the Sudzha district hospital. Several residential buildings were heavily damaged as a result of the attacks.
