Covert Cabal's intelligence researcher has confirmed that one of Russia's largest tank storage bases is actually depleted to the last drop.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference toShrike News.

As noted, we are talking about the 22nd military equipment storage base in the city of Bui, Kostroma region of the Russian Federation, which had more than 760 tanks (according to Covert Cabal) before the Russian invasion of Ukraine and was the main storage site for T-80 tanks.

Based on the latest satellite imagery taken at the end of the year, Covert Cabal estimates that 102 tanks remain at the base (as of early September 2024).

"I would like to note that according to a study based on satellite images that I conducted earlier this year together with the Military Soothsayer and MortisAeterna, 850 tanks were stored at this base in 2021, and as of January 2, 2024, 250 tanks remained. Let me remind you that this was a study of all the largest storage bases and the main storage and waiting areas at armored vehicle repair plants where tanks were stored. You can read the study here. Therefore, the correlation between the old study data and the new Covert Cabal data shows that in less than a year (2024), the number of tanks at the base decreased from 250 to 102 units, and before that, in 2022 and 2023, it was reduced from 850 tanks," the statement said.

It is worth noting that the tanks (hulls) that were in the area of the cemetery of unusable equipment were removed from the base.

"The base has a large number of storage areas in hangars, but it is unlikely that they are filled with tanks, given that the most suitable units were removed first, and now the turn has come to the hulls that were previously dismantled/semi-dismantled and are normally considered unsuitable for restoration," the interns note.

Also, as noted, a large number of other armored personnel carriers (mainly IFVs) were stored at the 22nd base.

Out of 1,350 units at the beginning of 2022, only about 600 units remain at the base, half of which are considered unsuitable for restoration (only the hulls, removed turrets, engines, batteries). That is, about 300 units are actually in such a state that their restoration means the actual manufacture of armored vehicles from scratch and will require large financial and time costs.

To recap, according to the General Staff, Russia has lost 9,429 tanks and 19,236 armored combat vehicles in Ukraine.
