On the morning of 17 December, an explosion occurred on Ryazansky Prospekt in Moscow.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Russian Telegram channels.
According to preliminary data, a high-ranking military officer and his assistant were killed.
According to Russian media, eyewitnesses said that they first heard the sound of an explosion, and then saw the car and the bodies of the men. Next to them were fragments of windows smashed by the shock wave. Windows and doors on the ground floor of the building were smashed.
"The explosion in Moscow killed a lieutenant general of the Russian Armed Forces and his assistant (this is preliminary information). The explosion occurred after the detonation of an explosive device. According to preliminary data, the improvised explosion device was planted near the exit from the entrance," the Baza Telegram channel writes.
According to one version, the explosive device could have been attached to the handlebars of a scooter (or built into the handlebars) that was standing at the entrance to the house. The preliminary explosion occurred at a height of about a metre from the ground.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, the deceased are preliminary identified as a lieutenant general of the Russian Federation's RСBD (Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence) troops of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and his assistant.
"As a result of the explosion in Moscow, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defence troops of the Russian Armed Forces, was killed. His assistant was also killed," the Baza Telegram channel later wrote.
Two cars were also damaged near the site of the explosion. There is no official information on the identities of the victims. Emergency services are working at the scene.
As a reminder, the Security Service has documented war crimes committed by Russian Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical and biological defence troops. He was recently served a notice of suspicion.
