Completion of Khmelnytskyi NPP will promote cooperation between US and Ukraine in nuclear energy - Herbst

Former US Ambassador to Ukraine (2003-2006) and Senior Director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center John Herbst supported the Verkhovna Rada's intention to adopt a draft law on the completion of Khmelnytsky NPP Units 3 and 4.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
"As Moscow's air campaign against Ukraine's energy infrastructure continues, it is gratifying to see that the Rada is considering legislation to complete the construction of the Khmelnytsky NPP, which should be done in cooperation with American companies. This will contribute to Ukraine's energy independence and further U.S.-Ukraine cooperation in the nuclear energy sector," the Ambassador wrote.
This week, the Verkhovna Rada intends to consider the government's draft law on the completion of two power units at Khmelnytskyi NPP, which are 80% and 25% complete, respectively.
The design capacity of these power units is 2.2 GW.
