General Staff confirms damage to Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Rostov region

Last night, on 19 December, the Ukrainian Navy and the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces, struck at the infrastructure and production facilities of the "Novoshakhtinsky Oil Products Plant" JSC in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is the only oil refinery operating in the Rostov region. It is used to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.
It specialises in the production of fuel oil, heating oil, marine and diesel fuel, and straight-run petrol. The design refining capacity is 7.5 million tonnes of oil per year.
"A fire has been confirmed in the area of the facility, namely at the catalytic cracker unit ELOU-AVT-2.5. More detailed information on the consequences of the damage is currently being clarified," the General Staff said.
The Defence Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.
As a reminder, on the morning of 19 December, the authorities of Rostov region announced that the region was attacked by more than three dozen drones and three missiles. A fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.
