73% of Ukrainians believe that Russia must fulfill conditions for peace talks - poll by Razumkov Center
The majority of Ukrainians believe that Russia must fulfill several important conditions before Ukraine agrees to peace talks, including stopping shelling and withdrawing troops from the entire territory of Ukraine.
This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by the Razumkov Center, Censor.NET reports.
According to the poll, conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Razumkov Center, 73% of Ukrainians believe that Russia must fulfill certain conditions before Ukraine agrees to start peace talks. Only 7% of respondents do not support this position, and another 20% have not decided.
The main conditions that Ukrainians consider necessary for the start of negotiations include: an end to the shelling of the unoccupied territories (54%), the withdrawal of Russian troops from the entire territory of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders (46.5%), and an end to the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (31%).
Particular attention was paid to the differences in views among social groups: poor respondents were less inclined to demand the withdrawal of troops from the entire territory of Ukraine compared to wealthy citizens.
The poll was conducted from November 29 to December 14, 2024, among 1,518 respondents aged 18 and older. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.6%.
