Switzerland joins EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus

Switzerland has decided to join the 15th EU sanctions package, which was approved on December 16, 2024.

This was announced on the website of the Swiss government, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"The Swiss Ministry of Economy, Education and Science has expanded the sanctions lists against Russia and Belarus within its sanctions powers. Switzerland has thus adopted the new EU sanctions," the statement said.

The new EU sanctions include restrictions against oil and LNG tankers, as well as updating the sanctions lists with dozens of new individuals and entities.

The Swiss decision will come into force on December 24.
