Ukraine receives first billion dollars from US, secured by proceeds of frozen Russian assets

Ukraine has received $1 billion from the United States, secured by proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Censor.NET reports.
"This is the first tranche of the planned $20 billion that the United States is ready to allocate through the use of immobilized Russian assets under the G7 initiative," the statement said.
As a reminder, on December 10, 2024, the US Treasury announced a $20 billion loan to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets.
On December 18, 2024, the World Bank's Executive Board announced that it had approved funding for Ukraine in the amount of $2.05 billion for the Development Policy Program (DPO).
