Attempts by enemy sabotage reconnaissance groups to infiltrate northern border are few - "Siversk" OTG

Currently, Ukrainian defenders do not record numerous attempts by the Russian Federation to carry out sabotage operations on the northern border.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Siversk operational and tactical group of troops, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vadym Mysnyk, Ukrinform writes, Censor.NET reports.

The military was asked whether Russians are currently trying to conduct sabotage operations on the borders of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

"We have the ability to detect such attempts in a timely manner. And we timely detect and repel them. However, the enemy's subversive reconnaissance groups are always active. And it is at this time of year that it increases. But we do not record numerous attempts, because we have enough means to detect them in a timely manner," said the spokesman of the Siversk OTGT.

He noted that the invaders are looking for different paths because there are hundreds of kilometers of state border, and the terrain is very difficult.

"We have forests, swampy areas, and small rivers that cut off border settlements from logistics that are convenient for us. That is why we have built our defense system in such a way that we can notice it in a timely manner. We have enough technical means. But there are still settlements in our border area that are located close to the border, with no people at all, or a few people who have not yet been evacuated. So this makes it a bit more difficult to use the Defense Forces," said Mysnyk.

In addition, the military said that on the northern border, the occupiers mostly use attack drones at night. However, there are cases when the invaders use attack drones during the day.

The enemy also uses mortars, including 120-caliber mortars and MLRS.
