EU provides Ukraine with €150 million grant for rapid reconstruction

The European Union has transferred €150 million in grant funds to Ukraine.

This is reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.

Ukraine has received the second tranche of grant aid from the European Union under the programme "Support for the Rapid Recovery of Ukraine". This financial support in the amount of 150 million euros has been transferred to the state budget of Ukraine to meet the priority recovery needs.

The funds will reportedly be distributed as follows:

  • EUR 65 million was allocated to provide free meals for primary school students;
  • EUR 50 million to restore port infrastructure;
  • EUR 20 million to support the agricultural sector;
  • EUR 15 million to restore critical infrastructure.

This tranche is part of an agreement between Ukraine and the EU that totals €300 million.

European Commissioner Kubilius recently said that Ukraine will receive about €30 billion from the EU next year.
