DPRK troops lose 1000 soldiers in week, some commit suicide - Kirby

Kirby on the losses of DPRK soldiers

DPRK troops are suffering massive losses in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia. Over the past week, about a thousand North Korean soldiers were killed or wounded in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

This was stated by White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby during a briefing, Reuters reports, Censor.NET informs.

According to Kirby, the DPRK troops are advancing on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region, which causes "significant losses."

The White House spokesman described the North Korean offensive as "massive foot attacks." He noted that Moscow and Pyongyang consider the DPRK soldiers to be "expendable".

"It's clear that Russian and North Korean military leaders treat these troops as expendable and are ordering them to unsuccessfully attack Ukrainian defenses," Kirby said.

The American official also said that there are reports that North Korean soldiers are committing suicide instead of surrendering to the Ukrainian military.

Earlier it was reported that North Korea is preparing to deploy additional troops and military equipment in Russia, including kamikaze drones. DPRK continues to support Moscow in the war against Ukraine
