Zelenskyy thanks US for $2.5 billion in military aid

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the United States for providing a new $2.5 billion aid package that will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
He wrote about this on the social network X, Censor.NET reports.
Zelenskyy emphasized that this aid is important at a time when Russia is stepping up its attacks and actively using weapons from North Korea and Iran.
"Every act of solidarity from our partners saves lives, strengthens our independence and increases our resilience. It also demonstrates that democratic countries are stronger than autocratic aggressors," he wrote.
Zelenskyy praised the U.S. support, noting that it was thanks to the help of partners that Ukraine was able to defend its sovereignty and regain control over large areas.
"Since the first days of Russian aggression in 2022, the assistance of America and other partners, combined with the heroism, bravery and determination of the Ukrainian people, has played a key role in Ukraine's ability to defend its sovereignty, liberate large areas from Putin's criminal forces and restore freedom of navigation in the Black Sea," Zelenskyy said.
The President expressed gratitude not only to U.S. President Joe Biden, but also to the leaders and members of Congress, as well as to the entire American people for their continued support of Ukraine.
"We must continue to move towards peace through strength to achieve our common goal - peace in 2025 - which is shared by Ukraine and all its partners. Ukraine, which defends itself from brutal attacks every day, counts on our strategic friends," the President summarized.
Today, on December 30, U.S. President Joe Biden announced that Ukraine will receive almost $2.5 billion in military aid.
