This year, despite dozens of Russian attacks, Ukraine has preserved integrity of energy system - Shmyhal

Ukraine maintained the integrity of the power system in 2024

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that despite dozens of enemy attacks on the energy sector, Ukraine has withstood and preserved the integrity of the system in 2024.

He said this during a government meeting, Censor.NET reports.

"Despite dozens of Russian attacks on the energy sector, we have survived and preserved the integrity of the system. We have launched a large-scale restoration campaign. The Ukrainian Energy Support Fund has attracted more than EUR 1 billion in contributions from partners. We use these funds to buy equipment and return light and heat to people's homes," said Shmyhal.

In addition, according to him, in 2024, the possibility of importing electricity from Europe was expanded from 1.7 to 2.1 GW, which helps to balance the power system.

"We have introduced an energy support package for citizens and businesses. Interest-free loans for individuals, loans for condominiums, housing cooperatives, small and medium-sized businesses, and preferential loans for large entrepreneurs. We are building decentralized energy as an important part of the post-war energy system," the Prime Minister added.

Earlier it was reported that Italy allocated 13 million euros to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine on behalf of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
