Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree according to which prisoners who signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense will not be able to count on one-time payments.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Radio Liberty.

"To determine that one-time cash payments are not made to citizens of the Russian Federation who, on the day of the conclusion of the contract for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, were serving a sentence of imprisonment," the document says.

The resolution comes into force on January 1, 2025.

As a reminder, in November 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved one-time payments to those who sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense during the war. In July 2024, the amount of payments to those who signed the contract was increased to 400 thousand rubles.

In Russian regions, the state payment is supplemented by local payments, which can reach several million rubles. These regional payments do not apply to prisoners, but to people who come to military registration and enlistment offices voluntarily.
