North Korean soldiers got drunk on New Year’s Eve

The North Korean military, which is fighting as part of the Russian army, continues to suffer significant losses.

This was reported by the press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

"On December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, the Russians continued to involve units of the DPRK army in hostilities in the Kursk region. ... To replace losses and strengthen positions, Russian commanders are moving new DPRK army soldiers to the front line - on December 31 and January 1, groups of North Korean soldiers were moved to positions near the villages of Ulanok, Fanaseevka, Cherkasskaya Konopleka in the Kursk region," the statement said.

At the same time, lower-level commanders (squad/platoon/company) lie to the higher command about the real level of losses among DPRK army personnel.

"The morale of the North Korean soldiers has dropped. They are constantly being "treated" with Russian army propaganda about the "great importance" of the DPRK army's participation in the war against Ukraine.

On New Year's Eve, cases of alcohol abuse were recorded among North Korean soldiers, including those involved in combat operations," the Ukrainian intelligence service noted.
