Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia

Between 2022 and 2024, the number of Ukrainians who are ready to endure the war "as long as it takes" decreased by 14%.

According to Censor.NET, this is evidenced by the results of a KIIS survey.

It is noted that in December 2024, the majority of Ukrainians (57%) are ready to endure the war for as long as it takes. Another 3% of respondents said they were ready to endure the war for one year, 3% - six months, 18% - several months. 18% are undecided.

Sociologists note that this question is asked regularly. And from February 2022 to February 2024, the number of those who were ready to endure the war for as long as it took was almost constant - about 71-73%.

However, from February to October 2024, the number of those who are ready to endure began to decline - to 63%.

"Between the beginning of October and December 2024, we also see a slight but steady decline in the share of those who are ready to endure as long as necessary - to 57%. It is worth noting that the share of those who speak of a shorter period of several months to six months has changed insignificantly - 21% in December versus 18% in early October, meaning that the current figure remains approximately within the same range of 18-21% that we have been recording since the beginning of the invasion. Instead, the number of those who find it ‘difficult to say’ how much longer they are willing to endure has increased from 12% to 18%," the sociologists said.

The survey was conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology on 2-17 December 2024 among 2,000 respondents.
