Situation in Kurakhove direction requires immediate decisions of Headquarters of Supreme Commander-in-Chief and General Staff - Butusov

Fierce battles in Kurakhove

The Ukrainian command is repeating in Kurakhove the defense model of Soledar, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar.

Censor.NET editor-in-chief Yurii Butusov wrote about this.

"The situation in the Kurakhove direction demands urgent decisions from the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff. I hope that publicity will compel them to act. We are holding the industrial zone on the outskirts of Kurakhove, the thermal power plant, and a precariously narrow salient through which all logistics for several brigades are carried out under relentless enemy fire. Defense in such conditions is strategically disadvantageous for us, as the enemy holds tactical superiority. We are sustaining proportional losses compared to the enemy, who holds overall superiority in manpower and resources," Butusov explained.

He stated that all commanders on the ground are urging "not to grind down our troops completely " and to provide the opportunity, while combat capability still remains, "to withdraw to a more advantageous defensive line, establish positions there in advance, secure the flanks, minimize our casualties, and inflict heavier losses on the enemy."

The journalist stressed that a decision to withdraw to more favorable positions would be fully justified by the current situation.

But, according to him, the Ukrainian command is repeating the model of actions in the defence of Soledar, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Vuhledar in Kurakhove.

"When the enemy has already penetrated too deeply, there is no capacity to push them back, yet the troops are ordered to hold the line as long as there is anyone left to execute the orders, despite the unfavorable loss ratio for us. Eventually, when our resilient forces are ground down defending tactically disadvantageous positions, we will once again face a shortage of troops to secure more defensible lines. This will result in the roll back far deeper than what could have been achieved now. I urge the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff to evaluate the situation and make a responsible decision regarding Kurakhove, as there is growing dissatisfaction with such planning and directives. We need to prevent further scandals,"** Butusov emphasized.
