Online voting for Public Anti-Corruption Council under MoD has started

On 7 January, from 9:00 to 21:00, elections to the Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defence are held.
This was reported by Censor.NET.
The elected members of the council will be able to monitor the activities of the Ministry of Defence - procurement, appointments, corruption risks - for 2 years in a row, and report suspicious processes to the public.
The Defence Anti-Corruption Public Council was created after the corruption scandal with 17 UAH eggs. In its first year, the public anti-corruption council has helped to return non-lethal procurement to Prozorro, which saved UAH 8 billion, accelerated the launch of the State Logistics Operator, established supervisory boards of the DPA and SLO, and prevented the merger of the two agencies, which could have weakened both and slowed down procurement.
The Defence Anti-Corruption Public Council was due to be re-elected in April 2024, but the ministry was not keen on having a legitimate council. On 26 December 2024, the voting for new members of the Defence Anti-Corruption Public Council did not take place due to a malfunction on the MoD website.
This time, Censor.NET's journalist Tetiana Nikolaienko, veteran and civic activist Yurii Hudymenko, and head of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) Olena Trehub are running for the council.
In late December, Yurii Hudymenko announced the creation of a coalition of 15 candidates - veterans, volunteers, journalists and experienced public figures.
