Germany to continue providing military aid to Ukraine in coming years - German Defense Ministry

German Defense Ministry assures of support for Ukraine

This year and in the coming years, Germany will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine within the framework of its commitments.

This was stated during a briefing by German Defense Ministry spokesman Mitko Müller, Ukrinform writes, Censor.NET reports.

According to Müller, the supply of arms from Germany is planned for a long time in advance.

The spokesman referred to the words of Major General Christian Freuding, head of the Special Staff for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, that "trucks with military materials are sent to Ukraine almost every day."

In addition, Müller reminded that last year Germany transferred military equipment worth almost 8 billion euros. And this year, according to the German defense ministry spokesperson, supplies will continue in accordance with the promises made earlier, which will, of course, be fulfilled.

According to him, among other things, additional air defense systems, armored vehicles, artillery, etc. will be transferred.

Müller added that Germany, together with its partners, wants to "strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the medium and long term to protect the territory of Ukraine and ensure security." This includes a "coalition of capabilities".

Speaking about the upcoming Ramstein meeting, Müller noted that it will be a "special event," primarily because it is the last meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which will be attended by representatives of the current US administration, including Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin.

As a reminder, Ramstein will take place on Thursday, January 9, live at the Ramstein base in Germany. This will be the 25th meeting of the group.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that at the Ramstein meeting, a plan for Ukraine's defense capability until 2027 would be drawn up.
