US leadership in supporting Ukraine is crucial - Austin
Before the meeting in the Ramstein format, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin called American leadership in supporting Ukraine key.

In an interview with AFP, he noted that the US leadership on Ukraine is "crucial" because the United States was the first in terms of the amount of military aid and the speed of its delivery to Ukraine.
"It is very important for the entire coalition to continue to provide military assistance. The U.S. is leading this effort and I hope it will continue to do so because this is not over," Austin emphasized.
The Pentagon chief is expected to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine at the Ramstein meeting to be held today, January 9, 2025.
