Putin will start thinking about peace only when he runs out of money. Sanctions are needed - Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy called for strengthening sanctions against Russia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on partners to strengthen sanctions against Russia and its energy sector.

The head of state said this at a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format, Censor.NET reports.

"We need to keep the pressure on Russia. This is what sanctions are for. I ask all our partners, especially the US and the EU, to increase pressure on the Russian energy sector. Sanctions are needed against every element of the Russian energy sector. The Russian tanker fleet must be stopped. The Russian military budget for 2025 is 25% higher than last year.

If we want to stop the killings, we need to cut off the flow of money to Putin. Putin will start thinking about peace only when his inner circle tells him that he has already run out of money," Zelenskyy explained.
