Environmental damage caused by Russia in Luhansk region amounted to almost UAH 600 billion. INFOGRAPHICS

As a result of Russia's armed aggression, the nature of the Luhansk region of Ukraine has suffered damage worth almost UAH 600 billion.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the head of the Luhansk Regional Environmental Agency, Artem Lysohor, citing data recorded and calculated by the State Environmental Inspectorate in the Luhansk region.

Thus, as of the end of 2024, the total amount of damage is UAH 598,225,184,914.

In particular, land contamination caused damage worth UAH 314,812,338,687.

Losses due to forest fires are estimated at UAH 278,849,765,473. Gas fires amounted to UAH 324,711,905. Other fires amounted to UAH 42,981,607.

Losses from water pollution amounted to UAH 4,195,387,242.
