Reducing mobilization age is impossible without providing army with equipment, - Zelenskyy

Ukraine will not consider lowering the mobilization age, despite relevant proposals.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Censor.NET reports.

"I will not say a very clear figure because it is dangerous. But we have more than 100 brigades on the battlefield, and each of them needs manning and equipment every day," Zelenskyy said.

According to the Head of State, the problem of supply concerns primarily equipment: armored vehicles, artillery and other necessary equipment.

"Equipment - armored vehicles, artillery, everything that is needed in each brigade. But in a large number of brigades, the equipment is constantly out of order or in need of repair," the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that every soldier must be well trained and provided with appropriate weapons. This is an important component of the effectiveness of the Ukrainian army, which allies should help strengthen.

"People must be protected. Not just protected, but with appropriate weapons and knowledge. This is what our partners should provide the Ukrainian army with," Zelenskyy added.

Earlier, the State Department said that if the mobilization age in Ukraine is lowered to 18, the United States and its allies are ready to provide equipment to Ukrainian recruits.
