Power blockade of Crimea might start in October, - Mejlis head Chubarov
Halt of power supply to Crimea might be the next stage of the peninsula blockade.
This was announced by the head of the Crimean Tatars Mejlis Refat Chubarov on air of Channel 5 TV marathon "Ukraine above all," Censor.NET reports citing Krym.Realii."We do not rule out that on the second stage of the campaign, the accent will be on halting power supply, but I always say that I believe it will happen in October," he said.
Chubarov also said that participants to the event persuade the truck drivers to turn around and leave the administrative border with Crimea. "We persuade the drivers, and although they do understand the reasons for this public blockade of Crimea, but they have their employers, and now they await orders from them," the head of the Mejlis said.
Crimean Tatars' leader Mustafa Dzhemilev said earlier that the matter of power supply cuts from the mainland Ukraine to Crimea would be soon discussed with the Ukrainian government. According to Dzhemilev, as of now, the Ukrainian government has reasons to supply power to the occupied peninsula.
