UN Security Council to discuss war in Ukraine on January 16

The UN Security Council will meet on January 16 to discuss the situation in Ukraine in connection with the Russian war.

The meeting on the agenda item "Maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine" will be held at the request of Slovenia and the United States, which consulted with the Ukrainian delegation.
According to the Security Council Secretariat, a representative of the UN Department of Political Affairs will report on behalf of the UN.
The meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET (10:00 p.m. Kyiv time).
The previous meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine was held on December 16 and was convened due to Russia's massive shelling of civilians and critical infrastructure.
