2 out of 4 ballistic missiles and 24 "Shaheds" destroyed - Air Force

On the night of January 18, 2025, the enemy attacked with 39Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of imitation drones and also used four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (launched from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions).

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press center of the Air Force Command.

As noted, the air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

What did our air defense manage to destroy?

According to the Air Force, as of 08:00 a.m., two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were confirmed downed in Kyiv region and 24 Shahed strike UAVs and other types of drones in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Kherson, and Donetsk regions.

14 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences).

"Unfortunately, as a result of an enemy strike on Kyiv, people were killed - the downed ballistic missiles fell in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. The production building of the enterprise was partially destroyed, houses, the entrance to the subway, cars, and the main water supply system were damaged," the AF says.

According to preliminary data, there is currently no information about the deaths in Zaporizhzhia, search operations are ongoing, but there are injured people who are being helped. The enemy hit one of the city's enterprises with ballistic missiles, damaging houses and vehicles.

Strike on Kyiv on January 18, 2025

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that on the morning of January 18, 2025, explosions were heard in Kyiv, and the mayor of the city, Vitalii Klitschko, reported that air defense was in operation. Later it became known that 4 people died as a result of the attack, a non-residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district was on fire, and there was smoke in the entrance of the building. It was also reported that the entrance to the Lukyanivska metro station was damaged.

The State Emergency Service showed the consequences of the Russian ballistic attack on Kyiv.
