On the night of 20 January, residents of Kazan reported explosions over the city. Earlier, the authorities reported a drone attack.

Kazan Airport has introduced a "Carpet" mode. Departure and arrival flights have been delayed.
Local residents reported that explosions were heard in Aviastroitelny, Moskovsky, Kirovsky and Novo-Savinsky districts, and alarm sirens were sounding at Plant 22.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has warned residents of the danger of a UAV attack. Residents are asked not to panic and to stay away from windows if possible.
