82 combat engagements took place in frontline, 45 of them in Pokrovsk direction, fighting continues in seven directions - General Staff
Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat engagements along the entire frontline has increased to 82. The occupiers continue to use aviation, including the dropping of GABs (guided aerial bombs), and carry out attacks.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of January 23, 16, Censor.NET reports.
Russian strikes in Ukraine
The occupiers used artillery and aircraft in the areas of Popivka, Tovstodubove, Ponomarenky, Studenok, Oleksandrivka, Tymofiivka, Seredyna-Buda, Malushyne and Shalyhyne in Sumy region.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
One combat engagement took place in the Kharkiv direction today. Enemy aircraft attacked Kozacha Lopan, Turove, Maly Prokhody with GABs; Krasnyi Yar was shelled with free-flight aerial rockets.
Our troops repelled five invaders' assaults near Dvorichna, Zahryzove and Petropavlivka in the Kupiansk sector, three combat engagements are still ongoing.
The situation in the East
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Zelenyi Hai and Kopanky, one combat engagement is still ongoing. Borivska Andriivka was attacked by free-flight aerial rockets.
In the Siversk direction, our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Ivano-Darivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders twice today, and a battle is ongoing in the area of Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops eight times in the areas of Dyliivka, Krymske and Toretsk, and the fighting is still ongoing. The enemy shelled Kostiantynivka and Nelipivka with GABs.
In the Pokrovsk direction in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Myroliubivka, Myrnohrad, Promin, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Uspenivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly and Yantarne, the enemy has attacked 45 times since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 35 of them, and fierce fighting is ongoing. Ulakly and Oleksiivka were hit by air strikes.
The situation in the South
Three enemy assaults have already been repelled by our defenders in the Novopavlivka direction, and the enemy attacked five times during the day near Novodarivka, Kostiantynopil and Velyka Novosilka. At the same time, the enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Andriivka, Novopil, Novodarivka and Kostiantynopil, dropping guided bombs.
The situation in the North
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled five attacks by invading troops, four firefights are ongoing, and the enemy launched 14 air strikes, dropping 24 GABs, and fired 275 times at Ukrainian troop positions and infrastructure facilities in Russia.
The General Staff added that there were no major changes in other directions.
