I don’t want to introduce dictatorship like in North Korea, but military censorship is needed - Syrskyi

General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, believes that censorship is necessary in wartime, but citizens should be informed about the real state of the situation so that there is no difference between the front and the rear.
He said this in an interview with the BAZA project on Radio Bayraktar, Censor.NET reports.
"I don't want to introduce a dictatorship like in North Korea, I just want to say that the war is not the first time we are at war in the world, wars happen and there is a certain set of actions that must be taken," he stressed.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that this issue is regulated by law in Ukraine.
At the same time, he believes that society needs to talk about the war.
We need to talk about the real situation so that people understand that the war is here, next to us. That people are getting wounded and, unfortunately, killed here. So that there is not such a sharp difference between the front and the rear," said Syrskyi.
According to him, this is not an attempt to restrict anyone's rights, but a "necessity," especially now that the information space is becoming so accessible to everyone.
The General recalled the beginning of the Kharkiv and Kursk operations, when the enemy did not understand the plan of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and did not accept this information.
The Commander-in-Chief considers this case to be an "exception to the general rule" because there is sensitive information that cannot be disseminated.
